Need something tall and complete? A subcompact crossover may very well be what you're searching for. These are the most economical crossovers you can purchase, come as the compact hybrids, and they are altogether created based on regular small cars platform.

Mitsubishi Outlander Sport

Not only its precise great looks, Mitsubishi's Outlander Sport is also a standard-issue complete crossover that tries to little past offering some worth. The base 148-hp 2.0-liter four-cylinder motor comes standard with a five-speed manual transmission—an irregularity in this version—and purchasers can update to a consistently automatic transmission and all-wheel drive. Need more power? The Mitsubishi offers a 168-hp 2.4-liter motor that góe exclusively with a CVT.

Fiat 500X

The 500X is the most valuable Fiat offered today compared to the unadventurous and almost overlooked 500L. Fiat fits the small hybrid with a 177-hp turbocharged 1.3-liter four-cylinder motor and a nine-speed automatic transmission. All-wheel drive is standard. Despite the fact that we have not yet tested the updated 2019 500X, the models we've driven recently offset the model's high style with unremarkable inside plastics, a couple of ergonomic shortcomings, and too firm a ride.

Base cost: $25,985

Hyundai Kona Electric

Sharing its electric powertrain and 64-kWh battery with the similarly new 2020 Kia Soul EV, the Hyundai Kona Electric flaunts a long driving range, the capacity to be immediately revived, and a strikingly more pleasant interior than gas-fueled Konas. Per the EPA, the Kona Electric is useful for up to 258 miles of driving range, marginally more than the Soul EV.
